BANC–134 focuses on Archaeological Anthropology that helps students study the origin and evolution of humankind before the script was invented. It explains how man developed from nomad tribes to cities and agrarian populations. In this field, anthropologists use material remains, including food, tools, bones, weapons, clothing, ornaments, and houses, to recreate, define, and interpret human behaviour and cultural patterns from the past. Topics covered in BANC–134 include origin, scope, methods, interdisciplinary approaches and relationships of archaeological anthropology, dating techniques, climatic reconstruction, Cenozoic Era with particular reference to the Quaternary Period, prehistoric technology and typology, cultural chronology, and the earliest evidence of culture in the world.
