Description
There are many different questions in everyday situations which include probability. If we hear that there is 40% chance of rain tomorrow, shell we still go to our planed picnic? If our favorite football team plays against the best team in league this year, what are chances for a win? For a student who didn’t read one third of a recommended book what is a chance to pass an exam? Who is going to win Oscar this year and how likely is that Leonardo DiCaprio lose it for the sixth time? And so on. Reasoning about probability is also common part of everyday children lives: they shuffle cards, toss coins and throw dice as a part of their games.
Objectives
The purpose of the present study is to determine understanding and use notions of probability (chances) among the students in lower grade of primary school in Mau.
